Noomi Rapace Online celebrates 1 year online!

Today, Noomi Rapace Online turns one year old! I’d like to take this opportunity – besides celebration – to thank those who’ve helped in making this fansite what it is after twelve short months. Klara has been a contributor in the early weeks of the site, sending in some great clips and magazine scans. Laura was kind enough to let me use parts of her Noomi material when she moved on from her own fansite. Alvaro, a long-time friend, has never hesitated to send in anything on Noomi he found. And the site would definately not be as complete and comprehensive today without the generous help of Emma, who’s contributed lots and lots of captures and rare finds that you will find throughout the site. To all of you – including everyone I’ve forgotten to mention here – a big thank you. And to the visitors, there will be two extensive updates later today to celebrate – so check back in time!

Universal eyes femme leads for Tom Cruise pic

According to Variety, Universal is moving ahead on its Tom Cruise pic, the sci-fi epic formerly titled “Oblivion” that’s now going by the working title “Horizons.” This weekend, a diverse who’s-who of Hollywood actresses will test for female leads in “Tron: Legacy” helmer Joseph Kosinski’s next project. Jessica Chastain, Olivia Wilde, Brit Marling, Noomi Rapace and Olga Kurylenko are among the thesps testing Saturday — though others are still under consideration. Universal had no comment on the shortlist. Cruise is set to star as Jack, a man who lives in the clouds above Earth and heads to its surface to repair drones that essentially keep the planet safe from an alien race that has all but wiped out humanity. There are two key female characters – Victoria, Jack’s right-hand woman and lover who serves as his eyes and ears while he’s on repair missions, and Julia, his fiancee on Earth before the alien invasion.
