Millennium, the Story

May 2009 · Canal+, Impact Presse · 49 minutes
Directed by: Laurence Lowenthal · Editing: Philippe Latron
"Millennium, the Story", which can be found on most DVD supplements for the film's trilogy, serves as a companion piece to the international releases of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". It traces Stieg Larsson's life and career. His childhood friends and former colleagues talk about his writing process, leading to the release of the first "Millennium" book, by which Larsson had already died. The documentary also features interviews with Magdalena Hedlund, the rights director of Norstedts Agency, Eva Gedin, the agency's editor, Daniel Poohl, the chief editor of Expo - which served as inspiration for Millennium, journalists Richard Slatt, Kurdo Baksi and Lars Collin. Yellow Bird's executive producer Soren Staermose also speaks about the making of the film, alongside actors Michael Nyqvist and Noomi Rapace - the latter during rehearsals for "Medealand" at Stockholm's Theatre Galeasen.
