I’m a few days behind with two of Noomi’s recent appearances in Sweden. On May 20, she has celebrated the launch of New Black x Noomi Rapace in Östermalm. As The New Black wrote on Instagram, “nowadays, when most collaborations are strictly business and all about money, we are happy to present something that is based on real friendship”. Also, last week, Noomi was one of the celebrity guests at Peter Stordalen’s opening of his new hotel At Six in Stockholm. Pictures from both events have been added to the photo gallery, with many thanks to Marinka.
Better late then never, here’s an update on the February 26 free screening of the Oscar-winning “The Salesman” at Trafalgar Square, which Noomi attended. Celebrities, activists and film buffs have joined forces for a movie screening in Trafalgar Square in an impassioned protest against Donald Trump’s travel ban. Model Lily Cole is among Mariella Frostrup, director Mike Leigh and Blur frontman Damon Albarn at the UK premiere of The Salesman, which is up for best foreign language film at the Oscars. Asghar Farhadi, the drama’s Iranian director who won an Academy Award in 2012, is boycotting the star-studded event in California over Mr Trump’s travel ban, which bars people from seven Muslim-majority countries entering America. Lily Cole told the crowd of some 10,000 protesters Trump’s travel ban is ‘unnecessary in this day and age’ because cities like London are ‘wonderfully open’, and warned we may yet see ‘more ludicrous policies’. Khan took to the stage, and after a few microphone issues which prevented him being heard, declared to loud cheers: ‘President Trump can’t silence me.’
Noomi Rapace has been a fixture on the London Fashion Week circle, and 2017 is no different. Yesterday and today, Noomi was invited to the front rows at Roland Mouret, Versus and Mulberry. Pictures from all three appearances have been added to the photo gallery.

On Monday, Noomi was among the celebrity guests of the “Hacksaw Ridge” screening in Los Angeles. You can find pictures in the photo gallery, alongside a good hundred additional pictures from last week’s American Cinematheque Gala honoring Ridley Scott.
Noomi Rapace looked absolutely stunning at yesterday’s 30th Annual American Cinematheque Awards Gala, honoring director Ridley Scott. A roll call of friends and collaborators, including Rapace, Josh Hartnett, Sigourney Weaver, Katherine Waterston, Ben Kingsley and Kristen Wiig took the stage throughout the evening to offer personal anecdotes. Matt Damon presented Scott with the award. As he often does in these circumstances, Scott looked back to his art school upbringing when it was his turn to respond to the outpouring of love and respect. “I was almost dyslexic to anything but that which was visual,” Scott said, recalling how poor a student he was until he took on graphic design as a chosen subject at London’s Royal College of Art. “I had this intuition about film,” he said. “I didn’t know how in the hell I was going to get there, but I figured maybe set design would bring me that much closer.” Over 100 pictures from the ceremony have been added to the photo gallery.
A bevy of Hollywood stars will be on hand to honor director Ridley Scott on Oct. 14 when the legendary director becomes the 30th recipient of the American Cinematheque Award. Actors from some of Scott’s most storied films will share tributes to the director, including Sigourney Weaver and Kristen Wiig, as well as Noomi Rapace and Katherine Waterston, who both star in Scott’s 2017 effort Alien: Covenant. American Cinematheque has honored a filmmaker each year since 1986, with the aim of celebrating an individual committed to making a significant contribution to the world of film. “To state it simply, Ridley Scott is one of the greatest directors in the history of the motion picture,” Rick Nicita, American Cinematheque chairman said in a statement announcing the participants in this year’s ceremony. “In a business where careers burn brightly and then flame out, the pure longevity of his permanent residence in the very top tier of directors is astonishing.” Hosting the evening is frequent Scott collaborator Russell Crowe, who has appeared in five films for the director, including Academy Award-winning best picture “Gladiator.” Matt Damon, who starred in Scott’s Oscar-nominated “The Martian,” will be responsible for presenting the award itself. The American Cinematheque’s annual benefit gala will be held at the Beverly Hilton.
Public appearances have been a rare treat for Noomi’s fans these past months. Yesterday, Noomi was spotted at the BFI Southbank Cinema on the South Bank in London for the premiere of “Anthropoid”. Based on the true story of Operation Anthropoid, the historical drama is set to hit UK theatres this week. Pictures from the premiere have been added to the photo gallery.
Earlier today, Noomi Rapace and Tom Hardy were spotted at the Audio Polo Challenge in London. The co-stars of “The Drop” and “Child 44”, both were in good company alongside director Yoann Lemoine, Hardy’s wife Charlotte Riley, Ellie Goulding, Luke Evans and James Nesbitt. While 2016 should be action-packed for Noomi with three theatrical releases slated later this year (Rupture, Unlocked, What Happened to Monday), right now there is only little going on. Over the last few weeks, the photo gallery has been updated with a couple of recent events in London. Check out the previews below to launch all last added pictures. Thanks to Marika for the heads-up.
