Thanks to Alicia for pointing me to these alternative key art posters for the upcoming “Dead Man Down”. They were created by Iconisus L&Y for its theatrical release. I’m not sure if these are drafts or soon to be released posters for the film, but they all look stunning throughout. View them in all their glory over at Iconisus L&Y as well as in the gallery.
|The US poster for “Dead Man Down” has been released as well as its official synopsis: “Dead Man Doen” is an action thriller that stars Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace as two strangers whose mutual desire for revenge draws them together and triggers an escalating trail of mayhem. The film, which also stars Academy Award nominee Terrence Howard and Dominic Cooper, marks the American theatrical debut of director Niels Arden Oplev (the original The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo).|
The previously leaked pre-sales trailer for “Dead Man Down” is indeed the theatrical trailer for the film’s March 8, 2013, release. Now, it has been launched in great HD quality and can be viewed in the video archive. HD captures as well as a first production still have been added to the gallery as well.
Collin Farrell stars as Victor, a New York crime lord’s right-hand-man, who is seeking vengeance on his boss, whom is responsible for the death of his family. Meanwhile Beatrice (Rapace), a victim of Victor’s boss, is seeking revenge and enlists Victor’s help. “Revenge. I’ve never thought about it before. But when I saw you, I knew I had my answer,” Beatrice says in the trailer. It seems she has videotaped Victor committing a murder, and uses this leverage – as well as her powers of seduction – to force him to help her. From FilmDistrict, Dead Man Down also stars Dominic Cooper and Terrence Howard. It’s slated for a March 8, 2013 release.
A short but nice article from the London Evening Standard: Swedish actress Noomi Rapace, best known for her role as the original Lisbeth Salander in the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy, has just moved to London. “I shot two films here recently and just fell in love with the city, it’s so beautiful here,” she tells me. “And it makes sense for me because I work here a lot, and it’s closer to LA.” Rapace only learned English three years ago. “I didn’t speak a word of English and never had a dialect coach or anything. I just watched a lot of TV and tried to pick it up from there. But I do have to work on my accent, I pick up a lot of strange ones. When I was working with Colin Farrell and was talking to him, I really had to go and clear my head otherwise I’d sound like an Irishman.”
According to Screen Daily, the upcoming thriller “Dead Man Down” will now open on Mar 8 2013 in the USA, after FlimDistrict initially selected an April release. Niels Arden Oplev directs the thriller about a crime lieutenant who falls for a young woman out for revenge. Colin Farrell, Noomi Rapace, Isabelle Huppert and Dominic Cooper star. IM Global handled international sales and co-financed the $30m production with WWE Studios. Neal Moritz produced through his Original Films alongside Wyman of Frequency Films.
