On Tuesday, Noomi was among the attendees of Louis Vuitton’s celebration of Ginger Nutz in Vogue in London, choosing a rock-inspired ensemble as she rocked a stylish leather jacket and camouflage combo while posing with creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere. Pictures from the bash have been added to the photo gallery. Edit: Lots of additional pictures have been added.
Yesterday, Noomi has been a guest to the 21st Annual Hollywood Film Awards. She took the stage to present the ensemble award to the cast of “I, Tonya” – Margot Robbie, Sebastian Stan, Allison Janney, Mckenna Grace, Caitlin Carver and Julianne Nicholson. Pictures from the arrivals, show and press room have been added to the photo gallery.
Yesterday, “Bright” co-stars Noomi Rapace and Edgar Ramirez have attended the GQ Style & Hugo Boss celebration of “Amazing Spaces”. Pictures from the event can be found in the photo gallery.
You can find Noomi on the cover of Sweden’s Di Weekend Friday issue. And if you can read Swedish, even better – head over to their website to read the interview. The cover and three outtakes have been added to the photo gallery: “Sedan succén med Män som hatar kvinnor för åtta år sedan har Noomi Rapace spelat in 18 filmer och flyttat till London. Nu till jul lanseras Netflix största produktion någonsin, filmen Bright, där Noomi Rapace spelar mot Will Smith. Samtidigt lanserar hon dessutom sin egen parfym.”
Variety has the first production still from the just-wrapped “Close”, which shows Noomi Rapace in action as Sam, the world’s leading female bodyguard and counter-terrorism expert. WestEnd Films is handling worldwide sales and is at AFM this week with a “Close” promo. The film follows Rapace’s character as as she takes on a job looking after a rich heiress. After a violent kidnap attempt, the pair have to go on the run to save their lives. The cast includes Sophie Nélisse (“The Book Thief”), Eoin Macken (“Resident Evil: The Final Chapter”) and Indira Varma (“Game of Thrones”). Rupert Whitaker produces and co-wrote the script with Vicky Jewson and Jason Newmark. Jewson is the director. Braden Aftergood (“Wind River”), Sarah Radclyffe (“Les Misérables”) and Dennis Davidson (“Bitter Harvest”) executive produce. The high resolution version of the production still can be found in the photo gallery.
On Thursday, Noomi Rapace and Edgar Ramirez have attended the DEA Educational Foundation Benefit in Beverly Hills, honoring Michael Mann with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his significant and long term positive contributions in support of drug law enforcement and drug abuse prevention. Pictures from the event have been added to the photo gallery. No word if Noomi was present to support Mann as a future director for the Enzo Ferrari biopic, which has been announced earlier this year without any further updates.
Another “Bright” trailer has been launched today by Netflix, giving us yet some new bits of Noomi’s evil elf Leilah. If they keep up the pace of releasing promotional stuff until it’s Netflix peremiere on December 22, we can consider ourselves lucky. The trailer can be watched below and in the video archive, screencaptures have been added to the photo gallery.
On Thursday, Noomi Rapace was spotted at a screening of the upcoming film “Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool” held by Lionsgate and Porter in London. A couple of pictures have been added to the photo gallery.
10 Magazine has posted its interview with Noomi Rapace on their website, so make sure to head over and read it: I meet her at the South Kensington Club, where she is a member, mostly to use the gym upstairs. If you put her name into Google Images, two of the top five suggested searches are “Noomi Rapace abs” and “Noomi Rapace muscles”. She practises Thai kickboxing and trains with her boyfriend. Today, her hair is peroxide blonde. Rapace’s presence commands attention. People in the club know who she is – a few say hello – but if they didn’t, there’s something in her demeanour that makes you aware she is there. Rapace says that people in London don’t recognise her, but I imagine they know she is someone, they just might not know who. Her face is angular but still feminine, which allows her to slide between the androgynous and the sexual – a shift that many directors demand of her. So you may be forgiven that she would be guarded – a reluctant interviewee, lost in preparations for whatever comes next. But she’s not. “People think I’m very serious and I’m very dark because of the roles I play – I’m not,” she says. It’s a statement delivered with – as many things she says are – a husky giggle. She tells me her favourite word is boom. “I say it alllllll the time,” she says. So much so that the word is written out in diamonds on a ring on her finger and also hangs from an earring. Both are custom made. She got the same earring made for her close friend Marilyn Manson. His is in silver.
