Episode 2: Män som hatar kvinnor – Part 2
SVT  ·  90 minutes  ·  Original Broadcast: March 27, 2010

Directed by: Niels Arden Oplev  |  Written by: Rasmus Heisterberg, Nikolaj Arcel

Official synopsis: As Mikael and Lisbeth join forces to solve the disappearance of Harriet Vanger, it may turn out to be much more deadlier than that, as they try to find out what connection Harriet had with five brutally murdered young women.

Additional scenes

Mikael and Lisbeth visit the retired police inspector: After Lisbeth has solved the mystery of Harriets bible initials and has joined Mikael Blomkvist in his cabin on Hedeby Island, they visit the retired police inspector in his retirement home, accompanied by his daughter, to question him once again about Harriet.

Mikael and Lisbeth visit Martin Vanger: Mikael wants to check the Vanger clan’s accountants to see who of them was part of the business trips. He and Lisbeth visit Martin to ask, where the accountants are archived. At that occasion, Martin apologies for his family being rude to him at the family’s gathering the other day.

A different ending for Lisbeth and Mikael: After Mikael has been released from jail, Lisbeth wants to tell him that she loves him. Waiting outside the Millennium office, she spots Mikael and Erika leaving, romantically kissing. Disappointed and hurt, Lisbeth leaves. It’s a pity that this scene has been cut from the theatrical version. It’s immensly powerful and explains why Lisbeth wants no contact with Mikael.
