While Ruben Östlund’s Oscar contender “Triangle of Sadness” dominated Monday night’s Guldbagge Awards – taking six trophies, including Best Film and Best Director – Adam Berg’s Netflix actioner “Black Crab”, starring Noomi Rapace and Jakob Oftebro, was the big winner in the technical categories, taking well deserved Guldbagge honors for Best Cinematography (Jonas Alarik), Best Visual Effects (Simon Sandrin), Best Set Designs (Linda Janson). “Black Crab” premiered on Netflix last March – and it’s definately worth a re-watch.
“Black Crab” is a Swedish action thriller set in a post-apocalyptic world torn apart by war. During a long, harsh winter, six soldiers embark on a covert mission across a frozen archipelago, risking their lives to transport a mysterious package that could end the war. As they enter hostile enemy territory, they have no idea what dangers lie ahead or who – if anyone – they can trust. But for speed skater turned soldier Caroline Edh (Noomi Rapace), the mission is about something else entirely.
