Filming is now underway on “Suicide Squad” director David Ayer’s next project “Bright”. The big-budget feature is being made exclusively for Netflix and has been described as essentially Ayer’s “End of Watch” cop drama, but with a fantasy twist as in this version of contemporary Los Angeles there’s also Orcs. In the film an Orc cop (Joel Edgerton) is partnered with a human cop (Will Smith) on an ordinary beat when they wind up helping an elf (Lucy Fry ) who has come into the possession of a massively powerful (and highly illegal) weapon: a magic wand. With several nefarious villains after the powerful artifact, the cops end up having to protect it and her. Noomi Rapace also stars in the film which Max Landis penned and which will debut on the streaming service in either late 2017 or 2018. Also, it was just released that Edgar Ramirez has joined the project as well. So far, Noomi hasn’t been spotted on the set.
