According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Apted is to take the director’s chair for “Unlocked”, a CIA thriller set to star Noomi Rapace, Michael Douglas, and Orlando Bloom. Based on a screenplay by Peter O’Brien, “Unlocked” tells the story of a CIA interrogator (Rapace) who unwittingly provides information to terrorists and then must race against the clock to stop a biological warfare attack on London. Apted is set to begin shooting November 3. “I am delighted to introduce this fresh, smart European thriller to buyers in Toronto,” says Alex Walton, who is representing international rights and is pre-selling the project to foreign buyers at the Toronto Film Festival. “With three major studio movies in production, Noomi Rapace is becoming one of the hottest female international stars working today. When you add Michael Apted, Michael Douglas and Orlando Bloom, you have a commercial package that I am confident will draw strong interest.”
