20th Century Fox has opted to give Ridley Scott’s upcoming PROMETHEUS a more desirable premiere than originally planned. According to The Hollywood Reporter, instead of opening on March 9, 2012, Prometheus now gets the much higher profile slot of June 8, 2012. Prometheus stars Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender (Inglorious Basterds, 300) and while it was originally conceived as an Alien prequel, it has morphed into a sci-fi original. Damon Lindelof (Lost) is writing the new script with Scott, replacing one written by Jon Spaihts from an idea of Scott’s.
