According to Bloody Disgusting, the sci-fi thriller “What Happened to Monday?”, which was filmed in July 2015 at the Castel Film Studios in Bucharest, has been retitled to “Seven Sisters” for its international release, locked for France this coming August. “Dead Snow” and “Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters”‘s Tommy Wirkola directed the feature, “Set in a world where families are allowed only one child due to overpopulation, a resourceful set of seven identical sisters must avoid governmental execution and dangerous infighting while investigating the disappearance of one of their own.” Noomi Rapace plays all seven sisters, who are named after the days of the week. Willem Dafoe and Glenn Close also star in the film, with Marwan Kenzari, Christian Rubeck and Pal Sverre Hagen. Close plays the fierce head of the Child Allocation Bureau, Nicolette Cayman. It was produced by Vendome Pictures and Raffaella Productions and fully financed by SND, which will handle French distribution rights as well as international sales. The script was written by Kerry Williamson and Max Botkin. Watch for a U.S. release as it comes in.
