Netflix is in final negotiations to acquire â€śWhat Happened to Monday?â€ť a sci-fi thriller starring Noomi Rapace and Glenn Close, Variety has learned. The deal will close in the mid-seven figure range for multiple territories, including the United States. The project sold out of the Toronto Film Festival. Although it wasnâ€™t an official selection, â€śWhat Happened to Monday?â€ť was screened to buyers at several private screenings, where it received favorable responses. CAA packaged and sold the movie. â€śWhatever Happened to Monday?â€ť is directed by Tommy Wirkola (â€śHansel & Gretal: Witch Huntersâ€ť) and co-stars Willem Dafoe. Rapace takes on six different roles in a story set in a post-apocalyptic world where families are forced to only have one child. Producers are Raffaella De Laurentiis, Philippe Rousselet and Fabrice Gianfermi. The film was written by Kerry Williamson (â€śAlex Crossâ€ť) and Max Botkin (â€śRobosapien: Rebootedâ€ť).
