The Toronto International Film Festival announced 59 Gala and Special Presentation films Tuesday morning, a small part of its lineup for TIFF 2014. The majority of them are world premieres. While the closing-night Gala was announced — Alan Rickman’s A Little Chaos, starring Rickman, Kate Winslet and Stanley Tucci – TIFF CEO and Director Piers Handling and festival Artistic Director Cameron Bailey were coy about naming the opening-night film. They said an announcement was pending. Philippe Falardeau’s The Good Lie, starring Reese Withersoon, Michael R. Roskam’s crime drama The Drop starring Tom Hardy and Noomi Rapace, and Israel Horovitz’s comedy My Old Lady, starring Maggie Smith, Kevin Kline and Kristin Scott Thomas also have Special Presentation screenings.
